FAQ

Planning a wedding comes with a lot of moving parts—and just as many questions. I’m here to make things easy. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions couples ask about working with Kamalov Films, from booking to final delivery.

If you don’t see your question here, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to make your experience seamless, personal, and completely stress-free.

  • Delivery time is usually 1-2 months

  • For clear audio, I discreetly place a small mic on both the bride and groom as a backup. The bride’s mic is secured with a comfortable leg strap worn underneath the dress, completely hidden and minimally felt. It won’t interfere with your look or your movement, but it ensures your vows and moments are captured with beautiful clarity.

  • We recommend bringing one person to your bridal session—whether it’s your mother, maid of honor, sibling, or someone close to you.

  • It really depends on your wedding day and location. If you're getting married at a scenic outdoor venue, I highly recommend choosing a package that includes drone footage or hiring a drone pilot. Drone shots add stunning perspective and elevate the visual storytelling. I also suggest including drone coverage for most bridal sessions—it beautifully captures the atmosphere and setting.

  • Absolutely! I want your film to feel like you. While I do need to use licensed music for legal reasons, I always take your musical preferences, favorite genres, and overall vibe into account. I’ll send you a few curated options that align with your story and style, and together we’ll find something that feels just right.

  • Travel within the U.S. is included in all packages—no hidden fees or surprise costs. The only exceptions are weddings in Alaska and Hawaii, which may require additional travel coverage. If you're planning something outside the mainland, just let me know and I’ll provide a custom quote.

  • To secure your date, a signed contract and a 25% retainer are required. For local weddings, a 50% retainer is more common. Once your contract is signed, you’re officially on the calendar—and we’ll begin planning your wedding experience together right away!

  • Yes, raw footage is available upon request. While it’s unedited and not color graded, it includes all the original clips from your day—perfect if you’d like to have every moment, even the ones that didn’t make the final film. Just let me know if you'd like it included in your package without additional fees.

  • Due to the nature of us booking months (sometimes years) in advance our cancellation fee is the initial retainer fee. Future payments will be cancelled. Any weddings cancelled within 90 days of the wedding unfortunately cannot be issued a refund.

  • While not required, having a second filmmaker is highly recommended, especially for weddings with full ceremonies. A second set of eyes allows us to capture your day with greater depth and dimension. One camera can stay focused on the key moments, while the other captures the subtle details, reactions, and atmosphere that bring your film to life.

  • Absolutely! I know planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, and I’m here to make things as stress-free as possible. If booking your dream videographer or photographer comes down to flexibility, we’re happy to work with you on a payment plan that fits your budget and timeline.

  • We’ll work closely with you to plan the coverage hours that fit your wedding day. We understand that sometimes things run a little over—so we only apply an overtime fee if your coverage goes more than one hour beyond your selected package. And of course, we’ll always check in with you before extending coverage.

  • If there are minor issues—like a misspelled name or incorrect date—I’m more than happy to make a quick revision at no charge. For any additional or more extensive edits, revisions will be priced based on the scope and circumstances.

  • Yes—I’ll personally be there to film your wedding and guide the entire creative process. While I do work with a trusted editor to help bring everything together, every film is edited to match my signature style and final approval always comes from me.

  • I come fully prepared with professional lighting equipment to ensure your film looks beautiful, even in dim or challenging lighting. Whether it’s a candlelit reception or an indoor ceremony, I’ll make sure every important moment is captured clearly and elegantly.

  • Absolutely! Your vision matters. While I bring my signature cinematic style to every film, I always welcome your input—whether it’s the mood, pacing, or overall vibe you’re dreaming of. We’ll talk through your preferences before the big day to make sure your film feels uniquely you.

  • Your final wedding film will be delivered digitally through a private, high-resolution online gallery. You’ll be able to watch, download, and share it easily with friends and family. If you'd prefer, I can also provide your film on a USB drive upon request.

  • I film with the Sony Alpha a7 III, known for its beautiful color science and low-light performance—perfect for capturing weddings with cinematic quality. For smooth, dynamic shots, I also use the DJI Ronin-S gimbal, allowing me to move with you seamlessly while keeping every frame stable and elegant.
